How much of this is accurate, we shall see...
Out of interest does anyone have a datalogger?

I'll update with the new stats in the morning...

Most of the stats have been harvested from Autocar, Evo and various sources around the net...

Where true figures have been unavailable, I've made an educated guess !! (which i dont think is too far out!)

Like I say, if anything is out or just plain wrong let me know and I'll try to get it sorted out..

Cheers,

slinky

I'll be taking my AX22 data-logger to log my Ruf GT2 and my good friend Henry's APP GT2.

Whilst I clearly am not going to volunteer to log all 30 cars there, I'm happy for some people to use the logger if they wish, provided it's on 2 conditions:

1. They have a car worth logging (most of them there really). Preferably though this means a tuned car for which figures are not normally available.

2. They are prepared to give it 100% in terms of brutal launches and gearchanges. Otherwise there's no point and you'll end up disappointed with bad figures.

I am coming too:

993TT X50

Power: ~450bhp
Torque: ~450 lb/ft
0-60: ~4.0secs
0-100: ~9.0 secs
Top speed: 180 plus
Cost when new: £122K

Will be real interesting to compare mine with your car Nel: as yours is the factory 450, where as mine is the factory 430 with Techart sports exhaust and hi-flow cats...which is meant to give another 20 bhp so Tech 9 say. Have a safe trip over.

Thanks

Martyn.

Will be more interesting for me than for you I suspect - the only development that I've added is the PSS9 system. From what I understand the 450 kit includes a change to the larger turbos of the GT2 (K24s?), so any performance difference would come higher up the speed range when the bigger turbos came into their own.

Am eager to hear your exhaust sound as mine is so muted that it's almost a disappointment. Nice when you're cruising on the motorway, but does lack aural cohones and the associated satisfaction when you're giving it some welly!

I'll certainly have to turn GuyR's kind open offer down, tempting though it is, as my clutch and driveshafts have to get me back to the big lily pad the day after VMax.

BTW - thanks Slinky, your table is fun. I do like the 'average VMax' car idea .

Someone mentioned Derestrictor - if he's coming his 993tt based beast needs adding?

The anticipation is building......

Stato Update...

The Porsche's are taking control, and have swayed the average Vmax car to the way of forced induction...

Any further updates will be done tonight..

hi slinky, the Ginetta has been "fettled" slightly and weighs in @ the RR with 197bhp, 270lb/ft, and 795kg (tare).

as with TVR's, the power figure quoted is usually optimistic, but oddly you quote a lower torque figure..also the factory quotes 5 dead to 60 and I have done 5.05 at the strip..I guess the figures are an average of all the cars though. nice graphic too

The Diablo figures on the chart seem to be a mix of the 6.0L VT and the performance figures from Autocar for the SV... my old banger is the 5.7 VT and is as follows:-
Engine - 5,707cc, V12, NA
Power/Torque - 492/428
0-60/0-100 - 4.1 (manufrs claim)/10.0
Top Speed - 202mph
Price when new - £160k

One major problem with it, is that I'm sure that it had optional extras of drum brakes all round

Good point. I think I'll leave the figuring to Autocar and the press fleet's tyres/clutch/drivetrain!

I am having to withdraw from the VMAX event, I am very sorry to disappoint anyone, I am very busy at work and my children and good lady want more time with me. Something has to give, so all "boys time" is postponed until new year.

Withdraw Ultima GTR 644 BHP VMAX

Sorry !!

G MAN

PS I will be back in the new year with an UPGRADE 700BHP and am on for the first VMAX of 2005

Don't know if mine qualify's as a car worth logging, but I'm more than happy to give it some serious stick (providing it's dry, I get 4th gear wheelspin at 90mph. It only has 15inch tyres). I'd love to try and beat the factory figures. My car has been tuned and is now producing figures that are about what the factory said originally.

Cheers

The Jag may not be coming... bet you are all disappointed to miss out on a strip-rip in her .

It's feeling a bit poorly and is being made better by those nice mechanics in Green T-shirts at the Main Dealer.

Rather not put the full story online just yet, need to keep the powder dry for discussions with both Jag and the aftermarket warranty company.

We'll still come along, but car t.b.c.

Er, what's happened to Ogg's, Shnozz and DustyC?

Thanks for remembering me Gaz!
Been very busy since the Euro trip and not had a chance to get on PH. Thought I best check this thread though to make sure its still on.

My car is missing from the list but craig has confirmed my deposit.

TVR Griffith 500 official figures from the hand book say
340BHP, 350lb.ft, 307bhp/ton,
0-60 = 4.1
0-100 = 10.5

Can probably take about 15-20% off of those for the real figures though. Likely power about 270BHP I suspect.

The only real figure I have is 0-110 13.7secs as that was my 1/4 time when drag racing.
Top speed probably about 155/160mph.
(seen 167 on speedo with roof down and not full throttle, but speedo has a 12%+ error too!)

Price when new? no idea. Its a '96 so probably about £20K?

If I can't get it booked into the garage on time though then I could be in trouble. The other cars top speed is 110mph!

Joust, either Marcos would be great. Must get another good look at the TS500 sometime. Saw yours at the show, fantastic car. Did you get those new rear lights in the end?
Infact any of the 4 cars would be great!

Whats the tarmac like? Is it "very used runway" or "race track" grade?

Just asking as I don't know whether to say good bye to this set of tyres now and get new ones before VMAX or use up the remaining tread whilst there.
Got a 200mile drive home though.
