They use the BL Special Tuning gearsets. I'd give this a thumbs up. Buy a fast road clutch as well.

Thought the Spitfire gearbox can be different to the (marina derived) Midget one?

Does the close ratio box have longer first, or shorter 4th?

Just wondering if the close ratio is really necessary to be honest - even with 3.7 diff the standard 4th can feel a little short at times to me. If it's a longer first than not a problem I guess.

What spec of engine do you have?

Mine is pretty revvy spec (for a 1500), with not a lot below 2.5k revs, I never really found any problems. That's for a 'fast road' car - I suppose on a track it might be different.

I looked into getting an uprated item, but fitted a standard Borg & Beck clutch in the end.

It did well, and managed to cope with 60% more power than standard for about 40k... err.. before several od of the springs escaped from the plate

What's the car, and what are your plans for it? (if you don't mind me asking...)

Cheers, Phil

If anything like the one for the TR2-6 CR box then first much higher, and then 2nd and third higher again but much closer to each other 4th will be std 1:1.
