Classic Racecraft is no more but I do have contact details for Jon Wood as he still looks after my fully modified race TR6, why do you want to contact him?

I will contact Jon and ask him if it is him if it is ok to pass on his number. I actually remember racing against Derek in that red TR4 many years ago.

Hello VPR, I'm not a computer person so will get my wife to search for me. I was in contact Jon about a crank damper but lost the thread (as I said not a computer...) Have nearly finished rebuilding the motor and would like it to stay together.(2.7L + most of the associated mods.) Regards,Michael.

Sounds like a great build. I built similar and was sold wrong parts by a well known TR specialist that caused a big issue. Jon has taken it to strip and build again.

He’s not a great communicator unfortunately

Hi
I’m not an engine builder but I know an engine/machine shop that help me with all my engine stuff and have built stuff before

So I bought ALL my stuff from a well known UK supplier/specialist. I went with jenvey Heritage throttle bodies so fill mapped. 2.6, forged rods and pistons, lightened balanced, strengthened ect, you name it I bought it.

On initial start up it would run for 20 seconds and come to a grinding stop. Obviously very tight.

Long story short, this it when I gave the whole car to Jon. It became apparent on him stripping it that the rings (although gapped Correctly) were too deep in shape and so seized in the bores.

So Jon is sorting it. Jon isn’t I’m easily contactable unfortunately and I am struggling BUT if and when I do get hold of him I will ask if I can pass his number to you.
