Manifold recommendations?

My first post in the Triumph forums... not the most active on PH but hopefully some other part time TR folks pass through here
One day I'll get back to NZ and get my '73 TR6 out of storage.... I'm going to take some go-faster parts with me from the UK and top of my list is a better breathing manifold. I'm familiar with the Rimmer and Moss catalogue items but quality of their parts I've had before has been variable, and I don't know how 'optimal' their design is. Are there better designs/sources out there?
Also - Is 6->1 and then split out at the rear the best way to boost performance while keeping the original twin tailpipe look?

Sorry I missed this. There is ONLY one manifold solution for the TR5/6, and it is the Revington TR six into one. You can get copies of this, or bespoke systems matched to a particular set up, but as a general rule the RTR one is the one to go for. To fit it you'll also need their improved throttle linkage, which makes balancing the butterflys much easier on all PI cars and additionally removes the odd linkage Triumph used on the CR engined cars with all it's problems.

The optimal exhaust manifold design for road driving where you arn't going to be at full tilt all the time is a 6-3-2-1 design, it gives a broader torque curve, however any tubular manifold wil transform your 6, I still have an old nail in my 71 TR6, in standard NA spec and if runs like a turbine! Just tap the throttle and it will pass the red like very smoothly.
IIRC I got it from www.rimmerbros.co.uk and was very pleased with it, combined with a twin centre silencer system it sounds great. Even friends not intrested in cars have comented on the sound.
