Stag Tyre Pressures?

Hi

Can anyone tell me the correct tyre pressures for a 1976 Stag on standard alloys? The tyres are 185/80/14"

My Autodata Technical Data book says the tyres should be 185/70HR14, 26psi front and 30psi rear.

I do mine to 28 front 30 rear.

26 front makes them look flat and the steering gets quite heavy.

30 makes the front too light so I went for 28psi.

Bear in mind that tyre pressures for the stag were set nearly 35 years ago on far inferior rubber.
