Hi all,
After deciding not to remap the pug, can you recommend a half decent set of discs & pads for front and rear axles? I have used EBC grooved discs & EBC greenstuff pads before, did not find them too bad but I have heard of mintex being a fairly decent in terms of quality?
Cheers

I had a 405 Mi16 and fitted grooved discs and pads supplied by Red Dot Engineering (www.reddotracing.co.uk) I was so impressed I`ve fitted these to every car I have had since, current car Mercedes SL.

So had I, until I fitted mintex pads all around on my A3. The fronts have only just stopped squealing and squeeking (after 12 000 miles of mixed driving) and the rears creek everytime I get in and out the car (I'm only about 13 stone, so hardly overloading the handbrake!) regardless of how tightly the handbrake is applied! Pedal feel isn't great either. The only thing I can't criticise is the stopping force/bite/release, but this isn't to be raved about either, just 'normal'. I would also say they aren't cheap enough for all the draw backs.

I'll never fit them again!

You are likely find the creaking from the rear of Peugeots when getting in & out is the bearings in the ends of the beams.
Common issue & we've had it with two of our 306s. Bearings (needle roller) and the shafts were knackered.
Wonder if there might be something similar on A3s?

If that was aimed at me you should note that I have an A3, not a peugeot wink but it would do with some new bushes on the rear which won't be helping

Yes, I did notice you were talking about an A3 - which is why I wondered in the last line of the post whether the A3 has something similar.......smile
