I just noticed that my jeep cherokee tyres are wearing unevenly at the front. The wheels seem to be set up with a bit of negative camber,

I have just noticed that the front tyres are a bit scrubbed on their outer edges whilst the inside edge feels practically unworn (these tyres have done about 8-10k.) I dont often drive this car - wifes car - but whenever I do the steering never feels great to me and I'm forever checking the tyre pressures.

is outside edge wear within normal limits in this type of car, or when there is a little negative camber?

Negative camber would wear out the insides first?

That was my assumption, I suspect it might be too much toe in or something

Don't have a decent explanation but in my experience (4 years in tyre centres) virtually ALL 4x4s wear their front tyres on the outer shoulders. Range Rover Sports and Touregs are the absolute worst for it.

ETA I'm referring to modern 4x4s, ones designed to be comfortable, big (not soft roaders, talking Range Rovers, X5, Cayenne etc) things on the road. Depending on what vintage your cherokee is this may or may not be relevant.

Your Cherokeee is toe'ing in excessively, hence the wear to the outside edges. My bet is the steering wheel is'nt straight either ? Get the tow in checked at tyre place.

The camber is'nt adjuable on them & there is'nt any anyway as its a solid axle wink

I hate to be a grammar nazi but I was amazed that an adult could make that many basic spelling and grammar mistakes.
