i had some new brake pads fitted to my car front and back, however these new pads feel worse than the old ones which were on there.

do they take a while to set in before they will be like the older ones, i also have to push the pedal quite far to the floor where the orginal ones were not like this.

you advise would be great.

what pads have you put on the car? also did it have new discs?

It is common for new brake pads to need "bed in", but if the problem persists or gets worse have a qualified mechanic check over the condition of the braking system for you.
No point risking the safety of you or your passengers.
