Eicher brake pads?
Discussion
Hi, got a bit of a rumbling/grinding sound coming from the n/s/f brake pads of my C2 GT, I can alleviate the problem with a bit of copper slip on the pads, but this doesn't last long, perhaps 2-3 weeks. On www.carparts4less.co.uk I have found a set of Eicher pads, suitable for my car for £12.60 delivered. I only really want to find out if the rumbling is coming from the pads so this seems the ideal way to find out for not much money, anyone had any experience with these pads?
Car wont be tracked nor driven erratically, although I'm a 19yr old male I rather like my clean license and 2 yrs no claims :P
Any advice is appreciated, cheers, Alex

It doesnt spin without any pads on but I figured it could also be the anti-vibration plate on the caliper causing the pad to wobble about a bit, with the copper slip everything is nice and tight in there but without the pad vibrates around a bit, I'm not sure whether its because the pad is worn (also not sure how to check ) or the plate isnt functioning as it should be, cheers for the advice though
Fwiw, the Eicher pads I have used have been really dump, to put it nicely!
Discs don't seem bad, but the pads are like blocks of wood! I can scarily easily fade them on my diesel X-type!
But I suppose if you only plan to run them for a mile to check and then chuck them, they would do for that.

There is a dark part of my past where I didn't have two pennies to rub together, and I got some Eicher discs and pads to save some money.
They stopped the car OK, but I couldn't ever get them to stop squeaking. Didn't ever really drive it hard, so for normal driving they're OK. If you can put up with the noise.
