3 independent tests, 3 first place results. I've got the newer model on my Audi A6 (factory fit) and have been really impressed over the last 18k miles.

The problem with PZero is they are all called PZero. The factory tyres on my 2015 5 Series were the older model PZero and they were awful - I gather the new model, with exactly the same name, is a significant improvement.
According to the reviews above (for old and new) they're both pretty good?

Had Pzeros on Fabia VRS and my M3.

They were terrifying in the wet, warm or cold. I simply had enough and moved over Michelin Pilot Super sports and never looked back.

Yellow dot aligned with the valve stem. A rare sight these days. Kudos to the tyre fitter.

Budget tyres are on pretty much everything nowadays I think people just look at price.

Had a pair on my lexus rx400h they lasted 8000 miles OK grip and ride wise but they didn't last and really not a lot cheaper than any mid range tyre. Rubbish

The yellow dots should be aligned with the valve stem on both steel and aluminum wheels since this is the wheel's heavy balance point. This will help minimize the amount of weight needed to balance a tire and wheel assembly. So usually, whenever you see a yellow dot, match it up with the valve stem.

(I too didn't have a clue,nicked from google)

I have Davanti tyres on an Alfa. I was a little surprised to hear a recommendation for them when I needed 2 tyres changing, I checked them out and took the plunge. After one year, though not many miles, I can say that I am pleased with my purchase. Grip is good in a variety of conditions. Remember, some ytears ago we had not heard of Hancook, Toyo and several other brands. Continental had faded from view and favour, but have now revived their fortunes. The main manufacturers make tyres in China, so what's the difference? Do your research and you can make an informed decision.

It's no so much where an item is produced, but the quality of the design, materials and manufacturing process to produce it.

I assume you're posting this while upside down in a ditch after your car span in the dry at 15mph because of your tyres?

hehe

and therein lies the truth, i buy based on reviews in my size.

Driving normally within day to day driving, as most people do they will be fine.
When you see tire test they don't drive round all day at around the speed limit with a few dots of rain. Tests are designed to show the outer extremes of the performance, so lateral grip, grip in real wet weather, emergency braking. Cheap tyres will be fine until they aren't, when it comes to the situation you need to use the performance limit of the tyre you may find the tyre wanting, the result of this could be a small bump or you could kill someone.

worst case, I'd feel awful if saving £40 on a set of tyres that could feasibly last 3 years meant i didn't stop and the child that walked out in front of me got hurt or killed.

But is this a question you'll never know the answer to?

If a kid runs out in front of you how do you know a brand new set of Pirellis would have stopped you short, whereas your 3 year old Davinti's didnt? If you take that attitude, do you always buy the absolute top of the range tyres and replace when they get to 4mm wear?

Its always a compromise, for the majority of people cheap tyres are good enough.

I dont get all the hate towards these tyres.

I have currently (and have also previously had) them on our cars...and i dont see the problem. They are no better or worse than any other lowish/budgety type tyre, not amazing and not terrible. I dont know what the problem is? They are what they are.

Granted, i'm not a tyre expert and have usually tended to have tyres from the budget end of things, (although not always) and these just seem to be there or there abouts.

The one tyre i generally steer (hehe, pun) clear of are Avons. I had them on my Primera years ago and they were good in the dry....but absolutely terrible in the wet...like...driving on ice terrible. It's put me off them.

Agreed... I avoid any off-brand ali-baba-by-the-container rubbish like the plague. I've been known to bin brand new ones that have been on cars I've bought.

Odd. I've always rated Avons, and they've been my preferred mid-range choice. There's a pair of ZT5 on the ZX at the mo, with absolutely no complaints - better than the Firestones on the other end.

Have to go with the information available, so many tests out there most brands are covered. Stick to what has been tested and at least you know how your choice compares instead of buying a complete unknown

You can have the best tyres in the world but if the person behind the wheel is some nobber texting then it won’t make much difference to whether an accident happens.

Regardless the comedy value on this thread was IIRC that some company shill came along singing their praises, claimed to be nothing to do with the company, got called out and then posted the invoice showing he got them FOC.

His boss then came along telling him to stop being wound up by everyone.

Isn't that the problem though, there isn't any good information? Davanti don't put their tyres in tyre tests, so we have very limited objective data to work with. Only a few posts on pistonheads.

Haha awesome it’s a longtime since I saw any Linglongs! Last ones I had came on a 3 series and got taken off and replaced with some decent quality part worns and gave them to the tyre fitter.

How does a golf R handle on 3 proper tyres and one linglong space saver?
