You can have the best tyres in the world but if the person behind the wheel is some nobber texting then it won’t make much difference to whether an accident happens.
Regardless the comedy value on this thread was IIRC that some company shill came along singing their praises, claimed to be nothing to do with the company, got called out and then posted the invoice showing he got them FOC.
His boss then came along telling him to stop being wound up by everyone.
If I remember him correctly, he posted a load of extravagant claims, got into tedious arguments about said claims and as a result probably did more damage to the brand than than any normal PH squabbling Regardless the comedy value on this thread was IIRC that some company shill came along singing their praises, claimed to be nothing to do with the company, got called out and then posted the invoice showing he got them FOC.

Granted, i'm not a tyre expert
Not having a go at you, but isn’t this the problem with threads like this? You’ve no idea how much importance to put on any opinions. Surely the best thing to do (if you don’t want to risk buying a set) is wait until some decent independent reviews are published?

vw probabley saved 10 quid doing that, x by a st load sold = profit. Ling long are a VW approved oem supplier.
Years ago Mercedes (I believe) stopped printing the picture of a smoking cigarette on the lighter in their cars and the saving was something like eleventy billion quid. andburg said:

worst case, I'd feel awful if saving £40 on a set of tyres that could feasibly last 3 years meant i didn't stop and the child that walked out in front of me got hurt or killed.
But is this a question you'll never know the answer to? If a kid runs out in front of you how do you know a brand new set of Pirellis would have stopped you short, whereas your 3 year old Davinti's didnt? If you take that attitude, do you always buy the absolute top of the range tyres and replace when they get to 4mm wear?
Its always a compromise, for the majority of people cheap tyres are good enough.
Just thought I would chip in as I have been throwing my Vauxhall Insignia around the roundabouts, driving in the wet and doing the national speed limit of 70 mph (get the message for legal reasons ) only to read this thread and realise how lucky I am to still be alive!
Yes, I may be a little more select about the rubber I put on other prized possessions, no pun intended, but having bought it as an economical comfortable family car with the 160 bhp diesel and 245/45/18 'Davanti' tyres on the back I found it handles far better than I expected. As such I have built up confidence and found myself venturing into the fast lane, taking roundabouts as fast as the line of traffic will allow in all winds and weathers with no problems at all.
The continental tyres on the front now need changing so I thought I would google Davanti as I may fit them to the front to match the rears, only to find this thread. Now I'm not sure that a front wheel drive car taking all the acceleration and braking on my well worn front continental tyres with my 'Davanti' tyres on the rear is a fair representation but I think they perform pretty well, I have yet to get the back out!
Only read the fist 2 pages of the 40 so the reviews may get better but wanted to assure all people who have bought cars with these fitted that you may well live a little while longer.
Safe driving

To be fair it probably doesn’t matter what you put on given it’s a 160bhp diesel with 245 wide tyres!
..... yes, I think that was my conclusion too.....Can't find any Davanti tyres on the usual sites but seen tyre shopper do Pirelli P zero neros at less than £110, need a pair so spend over £200 to get 5% off, looks like that's what will be fitted.
pound for pound Davanti tyres are fantastic value for money tyres. i sell more davanti's than any other brand. Most are A or B rated in the rain.also i read a comment stating you are better off puting part worns on your car! only an idiot would put part worn's on a car.you are better off putting cheap puddle jumpers on than partworn's or remoulds.Jackie stewart once said you only put a 10$ helmet on a 10$ head. work it out.

Well that's me convinced Have we had any objective tyre tests yet that feature Davanti tyres? We were promised them in the early days of this thread but afaik we're still waiting.

You probably make more money on Davanti tyres than any other! :-)Also the sale rate of something does not say how good it is.
More people buy a Ford Fiesta than they do a Koenigsegg but doesn't make the Fiesta a better car..
Strange this thread brings new and inactive members who only post about Davanti.
Davanti tyre suppliers are popping up all over the place.
When I've been buying tyres so many garages are trying hard to push them and pretending they are a high end tyre. Some of the quotes were quite silly too.
I take it there is bigger profit margins on them as you can't buy them off the big online discounters? Makes it hard to see the real value too.

So if you bought a second hand car fitted with Michelins you would have them removed and replaced with Davanti', what with them being part worn. No, I didn't think so.I Bought a full set of part worn Michelin PS4 with over 6mm all round for my Z4, much better than new crap like Davanti.
