That was a disappointing response. I thought I would take the time to write some comprehensive feedback on actual real world application of the product/manufacturer being discussed in the hope of contributing to the wider knowledge base - but i guess that isn't appreciated? I have zero allegiance to this brand; I didn't even know they existed until I found myself with a set on a car that we bought. I didn't buy them myself therefore I have no need to self justify my own purchasing decision. I was even very skeptical about the tyres and was tempted to bin them immediately - but I thought I would give them a go and provide some feedback to the community - I fully expected to come back damning their performance.
I have every intension of putting a branded tyre fairly soon and was considering reporting back my experiences - but maybe I'll give that a miss - given that there appears more of an appetite for uniformed speculation than any actual real world feedback (however suitably caveated that is).

Or put another way - I spent a lot of time reading this thread and other ones about these tyres where lots of other people had made contribtions - to see whether I should immediately bin them, lest I risk my own life. I couldn't really find anything especially useful or conclusive either way. So having decided to 'risk' taking the car to the track with these tyres on, I thought I would give some feedback.Still not buying any.
As I was clear to point out - I don't a great deal of recent experience with performance car tyres or performance cars generally (three kids putting pay to that for the last 15-20 years). I'm more in to bikes, both off and on-road, so haven't really had much call to be on this forum before now. My wife has bought this more performance orientated car, which has renewed my interest, hence I came here.
I didn't claim these tyres were fabulous or in anyway suggest someone should buy them on my recommendation. I just provided my own experience of them. People are free to use that information however they see fit - but I did take issue with being accused of being spam.

I think the reality is Davanti seem to be serious about becoming a proper tyre brand. EU design and development with cheaper asian manufacture.
They're the tyre provider for the Portimao racing school, a race school will not want to be putting novice drivers on poor, unpredictable tyres.
Something like the Protoura sport is probably a world away from the DX390 which is designed as a cheap, economical tyre for the family hatchback
That being said....I'll still avoid them until we see meaningful reviews. The winner for me in the size I will be buying will be the Kumho PS71 or Hankook Ventus S1 evo 3, both test very well and are 30-40% cheaper than the rivals from Michelin / Continental

Appreciate the comment. I'd hoped that by providing a description of how I found the tyres performed (warm up, deterioration etc.), then others can compare to their own experiences, if relevant and comparable - hence the long post. If it just said 'they are sh*t' or 'they are fantastic', I don't see how that will help anyone.andburg said:

I would agree - as someone who is generally cynical of marketing BS, when I was forced to research these tyres after getting the car - I found Davanti's marketing efforts more off-putting than encouraging. Almost everything I could find was the manufacturers own content. Like you - I would definitely not have bought them myself. I still won't actually - because I very much want to see what this car feels like on other well established brand tyres - and I'd only consider going back if they really were comparable and still much cheaper. Unless I far too much time at the track, that will be a while yet though!

The rears on My SV Golf need changing, I have Bridgestone all seasons on the front but the dealer suggested new rears at a good price at the last service, but I enquired on a whim and they offer this Davanti all season for £75 each fitted.
However as a biker I am well aware of the consequences of s
te rubber on the rim, kwik fit or national offer Bridgestone or hankook all season for about £95 a corner.I'll go with a brand I trust but was quite surprised that a main VW dealer is using something like davanti over Conti or Michelin!

Didn't really have much choice as we need the car tomorrow so had that one fitted. As I don't like mismatched tyres on the same axle, and the other side is coming to the end of it's life anyway I'll be booking in for another one to be fitted next week.

There were 7 budget tyres, 1 retreaded tyre and obviously a premium tyre as a benchmark.
The Davanti performed as I'm sure most of this tyre expected.
While this is a current model Davanti I bought on the market, there are newer products in larger sizes. I'll try my best to test those soon.
Bought a pair of the Tomket Sport tyres off the back of your test, can confirm they are pretty good. The car has always run on premium tyres before but circumstances meant that money was very tight so had to make sure I wasn't buying proper ditch finders! Good overall grip levels so far but after 10k miles it looks like the wear rate is about 30% higher than the previous Continental Ultra Contact and Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance I had before but considering the Tomkets are over half the price in my size (195/55R15) then that's more than acceptable. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Nm9jq8PWFs
