Nexen Tyres ??????

On a Merc CLK 280 I am considering , are they cheap Ditchfinders , if so why on this car ? Any thoughts people ?

Definitely not ditch finders. They are OE fit on some cars and at worse I would say that they are mid range.

Depends which ones, they're still making the dreadful 'CP' tyres but their more recent efforts have been much better such as the N-blue eco.

I have them on an '09 320d I bought recently. When I saw they were fitted I was a little bit concerned they were going to be crap but I've been pleasantly surprised.

In the dry they are superb, but similar to Michelin PSS in having a soft side wall.

In the wet they are pretty poor, but again I'm comparing them to the PSS I had before.

It depends on the age of the pattern. Older Nexens can be pretty bad, modern ones are solid midrange tyres.

In the dry they're ok. In the wet they're awful. Also found them noisy.

I've been running a set of N-blue HD plus' for about 6 months and they're brilliant, excellent in the dry and just as good in the wet.

I'm fairly certain I've had them as standard fit, albeit on a VW Van.

Our 65 Kia Soul came with them as stock, not checked which model.

They are fine - not a car I've driven on the doorhandles, but they have not squealed or struggled when driven swiftly yet within NSL.

I had some N6000's on the back of my E38. Had very mixed use including a trackday, they performed very well. Not amazing in the wet but certainly not the worst ive experienced.
