Detailed suspension rebuilt advice
Discussion
Hi peeps.
I've ever rebuilt my front suspension using new struts and parts but with existing coil springs. I'm still getting a slight pop, rumble from the front n/s . New ball hints and drop links have been fitted plus wishbone bushes. Does anyone have a detailed instruction on how to rebuild a suspension unit as I'm wondering if I've not lined something up rite. The drive side was making a loud pop when I hit speed bumps it this has now gone
Many thanks in advance

Rumbling from a corner would make me look at the wheel bearings on the side that the rumble is coming from.
You don't give the car, but if it's taper roller bearing I would expect some play when jacked up & wheel gripped at 12 & 6 & if it's ball bearings no play whatsoever when gripped & rocked.
There should be no roughness when the wheel is spun & no noise.

Hi, sorry the cars a 2008 petrol Focus 3dr. It's the titanium model so has the harder suspension. The noise only appeared after I rebuilt the suspension units. I used all genuine baring the struts which were Monroe. Reading up on other models they talk of lining up the bearings and that the top mount has to face a certain direction. Looking at the old mound I was expecting an arrow but there's nothing. Reason I ask Are a few report the popping sound when the mounts weren't fitted in rite direction
