anyone got any experience of trying these on their car on road or track?

IIRC KYB are the manufacturer of OEM Subaru shocks. I had them as replacements on an Impreza. Performed as well as the originals (which is not saying much if you know Subaru shock knocking issues.) Cheaper though for effectively the same thing.

Agree with this. I changed them on my Hawkeye STI and they were perfectly fine.

I'm not impressed with them on the front of my RAV4. The gas-a-just on the rear feel much better.
Maybe it's just the damping spec they've used, so may be better on other cars.

Thanks for the replies, I bought some KYB 'Ultra its their top of the range/sports/track shock.
I will report back after Brands hatch next week, not expecting anything amazing they are only £55 plus vat each for fronts.

Just to update this I put a set of these KYB Ultra SR on the front of my track car and so far have done 100 miles on the road and 100 miles on the track.
On track the old struts were completely useless due to being worn out original items with over 100k miles on them, so this has made a huge improvement to the front of the car, most especially noticeable on hard braking into corners (like Clearways).

On the road seem fine, nothing special, perhaps slightly softer than the standard ones.
