MOTs should be every 4 months! 12 month frequency is a disgrace!
4 months is just as stupid as 12 to be honest.

Assuming disks in tolerance you could get skimmed, new pads, a clean and greese the slide pins etc and away you go. But for price of most disks you may as well get a new pair.

Technically it’s fine / legal as it is but the fact the pads are not seating on the full surface on disk suggests issues.

I’d get it done. If skint I’d wait a bit but save to get it done.

Some people do 1,000 miles a year some do 80,000 surly if your doing miles then it’s really dangerous.

1 year is fine also links up with annual car insurance etc. Also the ball ache to find time to MOT it 3 extra times a year or for me I’d have to get the cars done 6 extra times one weekend in 8 .... no thanks

Interesting thread. I had a very similar car in the workshop today. Disc thickness was fine, but corroded as per picture. I did actually try cleaning them, but it wasn't happening, so I changed discs and pads.
Expensive discs as well, but my thoughts reflected almost exactly all the views expressed on here.
