Checking brake fluid levels on VW Golf / Polo
Discussion
I wanted to check the brake fluid levels today. I struggle to see the fluid in the reservoir and wanted to take the top off.
Does it just 'screw off' on a Vw golf / polo. I tried on the polo and it was very, very tight and I did not want to turn it too hard in case there was something obvious I was missing.
My wife's Vauxhall was east to turn in comparison.
and any tips how to see the fluid in the reservoir? I know the tank is see through but it's difficult to see as the plastic seems so thick!

I don't own a Polo, but every car I can recall has had a screw-on cap. If it's circular and has an outer surface shaped for you to grip I'd be happy to assume it was a screw cap. If it's tight, I suggest you hold the body of the reservoir with your other hand so that you don't twist it off its mounts while you struggle with the cap.
