Automatic Hand Brake

Hello All,

Hoping someone has come across this as this might be similar on lots of newer cars.

I have a 2017 BMW X1, with an error message " secure vehicle with parking brake when stationary "

This message comes up on the control display and instrument cluster, every time the car is started or stopped.

The automatic hand brake seems to be working correctly and operates as it should.

so is this just an electrical glitch and can it be reset or something more serious ?
