Contact for Bilstein Service Department
Discussion
Does anyone have a contact e-mail for the Bilstein Service Department ?
I want to see if i can get the front shocks for my MKIV R32 rebuilt as they are NLA from VW. From what I understand they are a modified version of the B6 VW got made for the MKIV R32 by Bilstein.
I tried the contact number for the technical department on the Bilstein website which just goes to a message saying the mail box is full and unable to accept more messages or to dial the extension of the person I need to talk to.
No one seems to do a direct replacement shock for the R32 (including Bilstein) as they are "heavy duty" (guess they have to be for the heavy VR6) so standard Mk4 Golf shocks are no good, the closest I can get are from a V6 4Motion which aren't ideal either. Only other option is coliovers, but i don't want to lower the car.

I know it doesn't answer your question but fitting coilovers doesn't necessarily mean lowering the car.
That's what I'm hoping, but so far from my limited searching the coilover kits I have seen talk about a 10-30mm drop. 10mm might not sound allot, but I already have issues with the center silencer on the (modified) exhaust occasionally catching on tall speed bumps so don't want to make it worse.E-bmw said:
It is, however a modification so insurance would need to be told.
The car is already heavily modified (Supercharged & DSG swap) so not too worried about the insurance sideGassing Station | Suspension, Brakes & Tyres | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
