Anyone ever used one, and do they work?

Getting a flat at 2am on a motorway.....£7.99 seems like a bargain biggrin

(I am in the AA btw, just in case)

You'd be better off using the money to buy a tyre plug kit and inflator from Amazon.

Cue PH'ers saying you will die using them...

You would be better putting the spare tyre on.
Assuming it has a spare of course, if not buy a spare and a suitable jack

This - you won't believe how bad a puncture they will 'repair' even if only temporarily to get you home. I used 3 plugs in a 10mm long split (chunk of glass bottle pushed through the Mrs's tyre near the edge of the tread) - got me home (she drove mine) and was still inflated the following morning.

Hardly any new cars have spares these days.

My previous two new cars did not either, so I spent a lot of money on a spare wheel and tyre for both, carried them around in the boot (filling it up) for six years, and never needed them.

I'm led to believe that tyre places hate them because the sticky stuff gets everywhere and takes ages to clean off. I don't know what they'll do to TPMS sensors either. They seem to be OK at getting you home in a pinch though.

Another vote for a plug kit from me.

Yeah I've heard that. That said, I've got one in my car as it doesn't have room for a spare. You do need to keep an eye on the expiry date though as they do go out of date.

I might look into the plug kits as well but that's surely only feasible if you can get the car jacked up to get the wheel off. Otherwise, I'm working in the space between the road and the rear bumper where I can actually see the tread.

Never used, but obviously it depends very much on the type of puncture.

And seemingly once used, the tyre is deemed scrap anyway
