EBC red pads turned gold

After yesterdays track day the red paint on my ebc reds turned gold. I did get loads of fade through the day but has this colour change got any significance? Is the paint some special formula which tells you when you've knackered them?

BTW, they faded to bugger all after 1 lap and had to nurse the brakes a bit to get them not to fade. Need some higher temperature pads I think next time.

Might want to look at the fluid your using if that's the case

The fluid was screwed and the disc and pads were glazed. All sorted now but wondered if the paint had some special "too hot" paint.

They're going in the bin soon anyway, didn't like them much.
