are these tracking gauges ok ?

Used one for years they work very well, only thing is using them is a two man job.

I've had mixed results with these. Gunson used to offer the deluxe version, which I think is just an additional ramp to put under the other wheel to make sure there's no gravitational influence of one wheel being 20mm off the ground than the other, so I'd say that you need that if still available (or a piece of board of the right thickness from B&Q if not).

You need to make sure you are using them on a level and smooth surface, and that the actual device itself is clean and free from any grit etc. They do work quite well if you take care.
