Let's say I had a Rover P5B - coupe preferably - and I wanted to jazz it up a bit. Let's say my V8 had been to a specialist for a general clean-up and was very healthy. As is sensible you'd want to sort any handling/braking issues out before making it more powerful.

A common modification these days on a high performance car is to fit coilover suspension as it is seemingly 'optimal'. However, on a car that old, with leaf springs/live rear axle at the back and torsion beam (I think) at the front, could such a huge change be made? Would it involve fabricating lots of new equipment to do it? What about converting to discs all round etc.?

Just curious!
