Citroen C5, front offside, caliper handrake mechanism
Discussion
Hi all,
Standard issue Citroen C5 Estate with the standard C5 handbrake cable problem.
I've owned 2 Citroen C5's, and yes, maybe I should have learned my lesson.
Now the C5 front calipers have a "hanbrake lever", and yes, you've guessed it, when
the handbrake is pulled the levers apply respective pressure to apply brake pressure.
My offside mechanism appears to apply pressure to caliper, but when handbrake released lever doesn't release fully.
So, can anyone point me in the direction of a diagram which shows how the lever mechanism inside the caliper works.
(handbrake cable and routing trunking replaced, caliper still gubbed when handbrake released)
Of course, it's not that I'm a tight wad, I just wish to understand the operation in order to see if it's an easy fix, or, knowing my luck, a new caliper.
The calipers work perfectly when footbrake applied, it's only the handbrake that's the prob here.
