Ford S-Max Front Disc Change

Hi,

Looking at changing the front discs on SWMBO's S-Max.

I have read they need the bolts changing if the caliper is removed.

Can you change the disc without removing caliper?
Is this true?
Does anyone know the torque?

Whille I have no specific advise- I have never known a disk to come off without the caliper.
