Hi guys,
Just replaced the rear brake shoes on my Mrs' Vauxhall Agila. The handbrake is now pulling up higher than before to almost full elevation and whilst there is some effect on the rear brakes I can push the car with the handbrake on if I want. So its biting but apparently not very effectively.

Any help would be highly appreciated!

Cheers Guys!

Do they have starwheel adjusters and if so did you set them and have you tightened the cable a bit more?

AAaah, I think they do have starwheels yeah, I wound 'em up to refit the bracket over both shoes! How do I know when Ive adjusted them correctly? I assume Ill have gone too far if I cant fit the drums back over the top?

You need to adjust the star wheel through the backplate whilst the drum is in place. Pull the handbrake up 3 clicks, then turn each star wheel until the drum is stiff to turn. This should do the trick.
