The car is 2 months old. Do you have any pictures of the car you did?
Not off hand but I can get some sorted out tomorrow evening
Not seen much of Jules lately. I was genuinely, without spite and with an open mind, looking forward to these pics.

Cool.

Just post them somewhere (photobucket, facebook, wherever) and get the url. Then, back on PH, you just paste the url between these tags (with NO spaces):

[pic] urlgoeshere [/pic]

Or, even simpler, when you're writing your reply there's a link above the text input box that says 'Upload an image (beta)'

Hey JulesB,

What's the hold up on the pictures?

Also a timescale breakdown, methods and products used.

Cheers.

how about one coat of a less than £20 sealent that can do this then.

this was bare paint no machining wipe down with solvent so just one coat of a product not costing £1000's

could someone now tell me how the average punter in the street thats paid for his one day detail could see the difference between one days work or 5 days work?

One will last years with common sense cleaning and the other will last 2-3 months , and when you call in for a top up.

If you don't mind me asking what product is that? That looks really good, Hand application was it?

Well, sometimes it's good to give the benefit of doubt. JulesB has been asked by more that one member to back up his claims and apart from one lame excuse, he's chosen to ignore them. Another case of talking the talk. I'd say that's not a very good endorsement for Glare UK. Seems like the apple hasn't fallen far from the tree and all rotten to the core. JMHO.

Everyone - I have deleted the conversation.

We have some very important "name and shame" rules here on PistonHeads, and in accordance with those, we do not allow such allegations (founded or otherwise).

Please stick to the topic at hand

Thanks

If that's the case then thin out page 4 !

I think I'm being silly - which posts in particular, I can't see anything that stands out?

If there are specific posts, just click the "report" button next to them and I'll sort them too smile

Seen them all...I think there's a line between difference of opinion and naming and shaming, I think we're ok at the moment.

Let's get back to the topic at hand though - orange peel removal smile

(actually, will do a couple. Thanks biggrin)

Kelly, fantastic work there.

However, it's a complete disgrace that brand new cars are being delivered like this with the customer being told that it's an acceptable paint finish.

Yep agree , done loads of new cars mainly of one Brand tumbleweed made in germany

most of the public dont even care , so still a tiny percent that care and do anything about it.

Hmm... If I had purchased say a new BMW M5 or M6 for example, I would certainly be expecting good quality of paintwork, based on what I spent... If I received it with the same level of orange peel shown in the photo's, I would expect them to pick up Kelly's tab for this superb work..If I knew about this process before I picked up my Audi, I would have rejected the car, until Kelly sorted it out. However my Audi is not as bad as the BMW....

I did a Range Rover this weekend, which badly needed some wet sanding on the near side rear 1/4 and rear door where it had been resprayed and blended half way down the door.

I don't for one minute put myself near KDS in terms of experience, skill or craftsmanship but I still spent 5+ hours on this wet sanding to get it as good as I possibly good.... Thorough wipe-downs, 1500,2000,3000 & 4000 grit used before polishing up in 3 stages with multiple products.

There was over 300microns on this section so plenty to work with but I still took my time, and made sure I removed as much orange peel to the point it didn't look odd with the rest of the car.

Here's how it looked

This was during the process

Finishing off

As I say, this was still 4-5 hours on the rear 1/4 and the door which didn't need as much work....

I wouldn't personally be comfortable even trying to do a whole car in 20 hours, let alone promising it!!
