So I have tried most things trying to sort out the smears on my windscreen, and have replaced to brand new wiper blades. But the smear is still there, and for some reason there is alot of resistance when the blade wipes the screen causing a very annoying squeak. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Could it be that you have overspray on the screen?

Carpro Ceriglass should do the trick

What are you using in your washer bottle? Distilled water and 1Z screen wash are the perfect mix.

The easiest way is not to buy all the so-called windscreen cleaner products, they're over priced snake oil. Simply wash car and windscreen, then use a cutting cream/paste ala Facela G10 or G3...work this in to the glass which will break down and remove the years of baked on road film, then wash of with hot soapy water. Finish off with methylated spirits...this clears the last remnants of G10/G3. As a final prep' you can use a water barrier liquid like Rain-X.

Ive used meths a few times just wiped off with kitchen roll, works a treat. Examine the glass closely for signs of baked on tar etc as this will ruin the wipers and cause streaks.
