Hi there
I've just bought an R8 gt spyder. On looking at the carbon rear diffuser there are 2 scrapes where it's caught the pavement. Not bad but the fibres are exposed and feel rough.
Is there any way of repairing this, just so it's smooth and can't be seen? I wondered about epoxy or filler..
Any help much appreciated.
Cheers
Dave

Its gonna be a case of removing the splitter to be able to position its 'A' surface facing upwards, then you an apply an epoxy resin.if it cant be thickened then an application, cure, application, cure etc etc method can be used.if you try and apply as much resin as is req it'll just run all over the place.

When your satisfied that enough resin has found its way onto the job and it has cured off you can knock it back and shape it with 320/600 wet dry paper. If the panel is lacquered then you might be able to skip polishing it and go straight to the lacquer stage.its then a case of blending in to the existing product on the panel. smile

.....or a black epoxy based filler can used ifyou don't want to remove the splitter.it wont look as good but following a similar method ot may achieve the result you want
