Yep, done a bit more reading. People say the are good until you need paint work done and then stripping them is a pain.
Looks like it would be good on parts of the car to help keep them clean and rust free?
Most are excellent products offering a very glossy finish not to mention absolutely superb durability measured in years not weeks like a traditional carnauba wax.Looks like it would be good on parts of the car to help keep them clean and rust free?
If a panel(s) needs a repaint then good bodyshop preparation should be sufficient to remove the coating so this shouldn't be seen as a negative.
For example Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light can be machine polished off the painted surface with a fairly aggressive polish/pad combination.
Gtechniq Crystal Serum is that much harder so needs to be wetsanded off the panel.
cheers

I bought a new car last month and PH-er NicoG got in touch after I enquired on this thread about protective/ceramic coatings. I was planning on getting Crystal Serum but baulked at the cost. Nick recommended Gyeon Mohs+ having tested a range of products when he worked for Rolls Royce in Goodwood. He offered to carry out the work and I'm very happy with the result. Sadly no pics yet as I've been too busy with work.
