I cleaned my car today didn't notice these when the car wasn't shiny. Snowffoamed and rinsed washed with car shampoo dried with microfiber towel then used a spray wax. And buffed off. Now I can see all these white ish spots on the car not sure if the clearcoates going bad now the cold weathers hit or if I didn't dry car enough before waxing or maybe a little light rain has got onto the car after the wax. Tried wiping off with microfiber and quick detailer no luck.

I'd maybe try a little clay and see what comes off...?

Never used a clay bar so unsure of what to do. I don't think it will come off meguirs cutting Compound didn't touch them so I think I stuck there. It's definetely something to do with the cold weather as they go on a milder day but as it's super cold out the cars roof looks like white dots everywhere haha. I don't mind too much as long as it don't peel. Tis an old car after all just didn't want to have the paint completely going to crap.

I get the same on my MK1 MX5 (also a similar red) which was resprayed by the previous owner. It's only noticeable when the weather gets cold. I've always assumed (probably wrongly) that there was something like water in the paint, trapped below the surface and when if freezes it expands slightly. I've had the car for 8 years now and it's never got any worse and is completely invisible during the summer months.

Same thing with my Son's red Hyundai Coupe.
In his case, it was the lacquer beginning to part company. Eventually the power washer removed great swathes of clearcoat leaving the matt coat underneath exposed.
I power washed off all the remaining clear coat, lightly sanded with 2500 grit and reapplied 4 coats of 2k lacquer.

You're not supposed to sand the last coat of basecoat before lacquering but sounds like you got away with it....for the time being smile
