I'm tidying up my track Westfield over winter.

I want to give it a thorough clean, in the areas I wouldn't normally - whats the best reasonably priced degreaser I can spray all over everything safely before hosing off? I.e. aluminium, painted steel, brakes, bushes, hoses, wiring etc etc. I just want something I can leave soaking for a few hours.

Thanks!

I’m a big fan of bilt hamber surfex hd.

It’s strong but also entirely water soluble so washes away clean with just a hose.

I wouldn’t recommend leaving it for more than 10 minutes or so as it isn’t necessary and you risk it drying on. I think pretty much anything you spray or brush on would be the same.

For heavy deposits you’ll need to agitate with any product I think.

G101 is an APC, caustic one at that.

I prefer Surfex and Megs as a degreaser.

Decent gloves, decent brushes and alot cheap MFs.

Microfibre (cloths).

Seems to be in agreement with me that for heavy grease / oil more effort than just spraying a product will be needed.

The nuclear option would be a petrol / diesel driven steam pressure cleaner but could do more harm than good used enthusiastically.

Astonish engine degreaser - Not quite as good as it used to be a years or two ago, but still pretty effective.
