Hi Guys

I'm looking for a decent low entry trolley jack
Having had the basic Halfords 2 tonne one for a few years now and I'm sick of having to use a small scissor jack to lift the car up enough to get the trolley jack under.

Any one have any experience of the following brand:
https://www.sgs-engineering.com/garage-equipment/t...

They look reasonably priced, but the price seems to shoot when going over 2 tonne. I think I've decided I want to invest in atleast 2.5 tonne for future proofing atleast into the next few years.

Any other alternatives.
Looking around the £100 mark for general home mechanic duties and for helping friends.

Thanks

I've always steered away from SGS after hearing a few stories of marginal quality and customer service. That may or may not still be the case.
I went with Sealey and bought this unit. It's been more than enough for the lower vehicles in my life. Yes, rated at 2 tonnes, and can be had for closer to the £100 mark online, however build quality is very good. Other colours are available!

Have you considered driving the car onto a couple of pieces of wood at the end you intend to jack? You might only need a 2" lift.

This is what I do, or yank @ wheel arch to give me some more clearance.

I got one of these 2-3 years ago, fantastic bit of kit and goes in really low. (75mm)

Also the wheels on it make it a bit quieter when you drag it over the floor and they are not marking too.

I've used them several times and they've been fine, and quick to respond to my (usually stupid) queries.

Love my trolley jack smilehttps://www.sgs-engineering.com/tj3lp-low-profile-...

I've got the alu racing one from SGS, very nice bit of kit.

Not had any issues to experience their CS department, but it's built like a tank. The website says "ultra light weight", uhh... Nah.

I decided to go with SGS. I went for a racing style one with the aluminium body, I'm hoping the 10kg weight saving is noticeable.

I'll try and remember to give a bit of feedback once its been used a few times.

Thanks for the help guys

i got a sealey low entry super rocket lift for £120 which is a big saving off new, it is good quality and works fine after 10 years of use. Only wish i'd looked at how heavy it was......

My SGS trolley jack failed yesterday so I’d be looking elsewhere personally.
