55 reg Fiesta Trip Computer Button Fault

55 reg Fiesta, the trip computer reset/scroll button works intermittently and seems to require a hard push. I believe that it is a common fault.

Before I start dismantling the switch and trim, is this likely to be an issue with a switch contact near the button end or down where the stalk attaches to the steering column?

It appears to work better when the stalk is pulled down, so I'm suspecting the stalk contacts
