After a bit of advice from people who are a little more clued up than I am.

While I dont spend my entire weekend cleaning my cars I do take an interest in the best way to keep them in good condition and look after them. I've clayed and polished my cars by hand a few times but thats about as far as I've gone in the quest for a super clean car.

I've now got a new car and would like to keep it freshy so I'm looking into the best way to do this. From my brief research so far I think I'm best giving it a good clean, clay and then coat it in *something* to protect the bodywork and make my life easier for future cleans. Does this sound like a plan? And what type of product(s) do I wanna be looking at? I gather a wax will give a better finish than a man made sealant but the latter a bit more durable and easier to apply? Give the wheels the same treatment as the bodywork?

Any other points to consider?

Thanks in advance

Get a ceramic coating applied professionally - GTechniq Crystal Serum or Gyeon Mohs. I went for the latter and I'm very happy with it.

As above, a new car detail with a ceramic coating by a respected detailer local to you would be the best start to life for a new car.
This offers long term protection and easy washing for you in the future.

cheers

Where do you live? I had my FN2 ceramically coated last october by a nicelad who does it as a side hobby/job.

Has got my 11 year old car looking like new! Washing is also easier and it lasts about 3-5 years based on good washing practices. He lives in Bracknell by the way. Cost me £320 whuch inc a 2 stage machine polish.
