Hey guys,

Just bought a 2016 ST as a runaround.

It's got the grey Recaro seats, which I plan to protect with some manner of sealant Just in case I have to get in with dark jeans after being in the rain etc.

Lots of people have successfully used Scotchgard on the fabric and Lexon on the leather. However, I was recommended 303 as the better choice than Scotchgard. As it appears to be ok for use on leather, couldn't I just spray everything with that rather than faffing around and taping off sections to apply two different products?

I'm looking at the 30616 product.

Cheers!

Gtechniq I1 for the cloth elements of the seats and a leather specific product for the leather - Gtechniq L1, Dr Leather Dye Block, Gyeon Leather all excellent.

You want to make sure the surfaces are as clean as possible before applying, especially the leather. "shiny leather = dirty leather" so a deep clean with something like Gtechniq I2 tri-clean and a leather brush would be beneficial.

cheers

Thanks for the reply.

It's very clean as only bought last weekend. What do you think about using the 303 for all seat surfaces after cleaning with the products you mention?

Ok but it is 2yrs old so you are inheriting 2yrs worth of the previous owner(s) dirt - if you bought from a dealer the best you can hope for is a wipe over with a damp chamois!

The 303 will be ok for the carpets and cloth centre's of the seats, I'd not use it to protect the leather specifically.
You'll probably want to reapply every year as seats, especially the drivers one are high traffic areas and the protection will degrade through abrasion.

cheers

Chris

All depends on the dealer. I'd estimate we are shampooing 90% of the vehicles we receive probably 1 in 10 have seats removed to this end.
