Electric Handbrake Question
Discussion
In my 2014 981 the handbrake does sometimes self engage, most noticeable when I get home and put it in the garage.
I think this is a combination of door open; seatbelt off; PDK gear position? I've never worked it out or had cause to. Other times I have to engage it myself. I have to say it's never caused any issues. Mostly I say to myself "Aha, the car knows it's parked and has applied the handbrake. Well done."
Garage is level of course, so nothing to do with the "hold" feature.

^^ That's interesting. I've never noticed mine do this, but I dutifully put it in P and release seat belt before switching off and removing key. I Suspect most do the same...
I never noticed it either on my 981S. My current car does it but you do have to press the footbrake quite hard as you switch off (harder than I would naturally do) - maybe the Cayster is the same.Gassing Station | Boxster/Cayman | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
