Car windows steaming up after valet
Discussion
Hello, I’ve got a year old Audi which I’ve owned from new so it’s been well cared for.
I’ve got a strange problem that none of my mates know the solution to but have also encountered!
I’ve noticed that when I get my car valeted by the former petrol station forecourt turned hand car wash, my windows steam up a LOT on cold and rainy days.
Is this because of the products they use and is there a solution to this as even the car de-mister takes ages to clear the steam/mist. Any recommended products would be useful to know.

I saw my local car wash guys jet washing the door shuts of a Toyota GT86 and the water was being sprayed over the interior! This type of behaviour would cause that.
Yes I cringe when I see that - or floor mats being taken out and jetwashed!Although, OP, do you use the airconditioning? If not, it will help to dry the air in the car if you turn it on.

I would valet your car yourself so you get a proper job done.
Or find some mates who aren’t quite as thick? Could never understand the attraction of having your very expensive and extremely shiny pride and joy attacked with a ten year old grit filled 'shammy' which has been dropped a 1000 times and seen a million other filthy sheds before it.
Still, it provides the EEs with work.

Doesn't matter whether you pay a fiver for a quick scratch and go, or hundreds for a full on detail. Either way I'd expect them not to jet wash carpet mats.
Jet washing the mats, be it rubber or carpet, isn't the issue. Not allowing them to dry out fully is. Same 'non-dried fully' issue applies to any interior fabrics... or clothes... the dog etc etc.OP needs to establish if any of said fabrics are still damp and if so, allow them to dry out fully though easier said than done in winter. Though assuming it is damp mats, overnight in the house should suffice.
I've power washed many a carpet mat and boot carpet and it's perfectly fine, if they're totally dry before going back in.

Oh nice.. casual racism and assumptions. wonderful comments from the plebs as usual.
Anyway, you may want to check/replace the cabin filter if it snot already been done.
Where was the racism? Anyway, you may want to check/replace the cabin filter if it snot already been done.
But as an Englishman I can’t say There are many grounds to object.
Do they clean the inside of the windscreen and windows with any glass products as part of the valet?
Such products ** might be cheaper household items that look nice but contain elements that can trap dirt and moisture on the glass helping condensation to form.

- I would have used the word polish, but that would be politically incorrect and would overly excite certain people in an unhealthy way.
