Two small repairs, one to my girlfriends NSQ on a fiat 500 and a very minor scrape on my Golf on the bumper from loading something to the boot.
Pictures here and I feel like the workmanship is not up to standard. The fiat has lost any definition between hlthe panels with a blurry edge.
The golf now has masking tape lines, blooming at the fade, an additional sub surface splodge on previously perfect paint.
Thia was a local outfit that come to your home, and had I known that the finish wouldn't have been up to a 6' inspection I would have turned down the work.

Fiat before

Fiat after

Golf before

Golf masking tape mark

Extra under surface gunk

Is this to be expected for a mobile repair outfit or should I be refusing the work?
At the first assumed completion there was a chip left in the golf that the technician had 'missed', even though I saw it 2 hours prior. Consequently filled and lacquered. The Fiat had what could be best described as over spray across the panel gap to almost join the two panels.
The work was accepted to let the girl go as I needed a car back in use and didn't see much value keeping her for more hours in the dark and cold if this was the best that could be delivered.
Invoice hasn't been paid yet.

If they were mine I would be asking for them both to be redone...maybe by a different person from the same company?!
I certainly wouldn't be settling the invoice until you are satisfied with the end result.

It always amazes me how someone walks away from a job like the above thinking that it's at an acceptable levelscratchchin

Take them to a body shop. Get them done right.

I'm away for a few weeks up to Christmas. The SMART repair outfit have cancelled the invoice, and the boss will come round - probably in the New Year for a look. If the suggestion is that a better repair cannot be completed then we'll part company.
I will then take them to a bodyshop and have a more professional job done.

You should have seen the first attempt when it was suggested it was completed!

I mentioned the lack of panel gap on the Fiat and suggested that removing a few screws from the bumper and easing them apart would have resulted in a much better finish. The response what that in all of her repairs she has never had to remove a bumper.

And I could not belive the chip that had been left in the golf bumper and 'not spotted'.
