I have a 12 year black car which I have machine polished with a DA once a year or so ago. After watching the guide on 1-stage polishing on Forensic Detailing youtube channel, I used Scholl S20 black on a green chemical guys hex pads, but wasn't overly happy with the results - the car has a fair bit of swirlling, and not alot of it looked like it had been removed post polishing. I'd like to give it another try and looking for recommendations for 1-stage polish, accepting this won't give the results of a full '3-stage', but I'm hoping there is something else out there that I can try which will give better results than the S20.

Any recommendations smile Many thanks

No connection to this supplier, but I have used the product, it's OK if you put the time in and don't overload the pad

What car are you referring to OP?

A recommendation for a single stage combo for a Mercedes will be very different to that for a Honda e.g.

Rupes yellow polishing pad & The Last Cut polish will give decent results on various cars.

Thanks both. It's a Audi S5, 2008 vintage.

In which case the previously mentioned pad/polish combo will be a good starting point to see noticeable defect removal, you certainly don't want anything less abrasive.

Happy polishing!

Cheers,
