Best product/method for cleaning fabric seats

Any recommendations for the best method or product to use for cleaning a stain on a fabric car seat?

I have recently bought a Vax spot cleaner. It has done the best job of cleaning my wife's car interior which has been subjected to nine years of kids and dogs generally spilling stuff (drinks/ milk), getting sand embedded, etc., compared to anything else. Any hand cleaning methods have worked okay, but seemed to just move the dirt around in the fabric rather than pulling it out effectively.

A friend's daughter actually complimented how clean it looked, a little odd from a 12 year old but obviously made a positive impression.
