How are you Ava owners finding them another 6-8 months into ownership? My Karcher k2 has given up and it's the 3rd one to have died on me (technically 4th as the 3rd blew its motor in first month and was replaced under warranty). Started looking at Nilfisk but many of the reviews give a similar experience to Karcher.

Came across Ava and the P60 Evo looks to fit the bill and seems to be a step above Karcher & Nilfisk in terms of build quality and features. The P70 is only £40 more but I'm concerned more likely to blow a fuse and I can spend that £40 on the patio attachment.

The 20 year warranty sounds great but requires servicing every 5yrs which can be done DIY but I can't even find the service kits (which Ava say are sold at cost) to gauge price. I'm not sure I can be arsed or have the DIY skills so would either just ignore it and hope it lasts (fairly light user - couple of cars once a month and small patio and sidepath once a year) or see if a local garden machinery maint company would do it for a reasonable amount.

Had some issues with mine leaking from the gun connector. They replaced it without any issues. Same with the snow foam connector perishing. To be fair it’s been stored in a shed all winter so probably related to that.

Sorry to report this connector has gone again, I have reported it and have had a message saying it will be 14 days till someone even contacts me about it. I think that is pretty poor TBH.

That is poor. Which model was this? How long have you had it - as maybe worth contacting retailer you bought it from?

It’s Ava, 7 year warranty.

14 days to reply and tell me to troubleshoot, using an online form, for an item I know is broken, and have sent them a video of being clearly broken. I jumped the hoops, and have to upload a picture. 10mb limit, my screenshot is 11mb. I’m beyond pissed off now. ste service.

Troubleshoot directs me to purchase a replacement part which defeats the point of a warranty. Beyond frustrating, but welcome to future of AI/Automated response. The actual human on the end of the email won’t engage with me.

I recently replaced my pressure washer with a 'TITAN' from Screwfix. Sad name maybe but for £150 it has 150 bar pressure if you need for patio etc and is adjustable too plus a 10m rewindable hose, which is handy for going all round car without moving the washer. I'm impressed, just saying.

If I can tag on here....think I will be needing a new pressure washer.

Presently have a Nilfisk, 7 years old. It has noticeably inferior build quality compared to the comparable Kew/Alto that was about 18 years old.

Issues with Nilfisk;
Hose handle never fitted properly, kept falling off. Now completely broken.

Lance holder...keeps falling off.

Draw from detergent tank never worked from new. Received a replacement machine, that failed after 2 uses.

It is starting to leak from lance handle.

Hose line is wearing through.

So, my original machine was fantastic but this one, I think it was built to a price with parts not durable enough for reasonable usage.

I was interested in the AVAs too, though the reports above are off putting.

There is a range from SIP that look OK but pricey. I had not heard of this make but getting sold alongside Stihl and Husqvarna. Not interested in Karcher (sorry).

What represents a decent current buy thing?

The answer is often Kranzle.
Change the oil once a year, run some clear water through the detergent pick up, spend a few quid on qick change connectors for the various implements and accessories you buy.

Not cheap but worth every penny, the bloke who built and services our heavy duty static steam cleaner at work (probably in use 6 to 10 hours every day) advised me what to look for in a home pressure washer, he didn't say Kranzle only but approved my purchase, he did say to avoid the usual accessory shop makes often spoken of in these threads.
Its not headline high pressure you need more important is water flow rate, preferably 7 lpm minimum (many domestic makes don't quote lpm), rubber hose not plastic 15m+, brass pump, Kranzle lances and guns are tough too, the jets can be stripped for cleaning should something find its way through.
You can also run hot water from your taps through (check in the blurb for any you consider) Kranzle machines giving you a cheap steam cleaner option when needed and with enough flow rate you can have a wide jet setting that won't cause damage yet gives a good clean.

Oddly enough I've also had enough of my Nilfisk. Bought it new in 2018, and after about 2 and a half years of infrequent use the pressure switch shat itself. Today, coincidentally after about another 2 and a half years, same again.

So I'm going to replace the pressure switch a second time, then it's off on eBay, someone else can probably get another couple of years out of it before it's landfill. Thankfully I didn't throw the original hose etc out when I bought a much better hose and stubby gun set (as the original was pretty st).

The place I bought the hose set from offer a few of their own brand machines, so I'm pondering one of the below, either their "domestic" machine or possibly the more pricey "commercial" one.

Does anyone know of any major retailers who stock pressure washer accessories?

Usual places like Screwfix, Toolstation etc don't have these unless it's Karcher.

I bought my first ever washer earlier this year (from Lidl) for light occasional use, and there's a bit of communal footpath now needing a good blast so I purchased a circular wheeled patio attachment off Amazon last week. It was delivered today but I can't get the original PW lance to connect to the rods of the attachments. It came with a load of o-rings and a metal wire loop of some sort.

The reviews were singing the product's praises so I thought it would be a universal fit.

Ended up using the original lance without the attachment but it was taking that long that making progress was not easy.

Karcher take a bit of stick, but given the millions they have sold & the spare parts availability, i reckon they take some beating.

I have a K4 600 that must be 12-15 years & i've had to replace a couple of bits, but the easy availability & low cost of parts means simple diy for anyone with a reasonable tool kit.

Thanks, Guys.

I must admit even Karcher didn't seem to have the fitments I was looking for via online searche

Completely forgot about Machine Mart.

It was Amazon to the rescue again.

Due to fly out a week on Sunday and hoping the item really does arrive via standard post next Monday (11th). I had to be extra cautious the item wasn't coming in from China or the USA but even some of the Chinese delivery options were extremely rapid - assuming they do occupy warehouse space.

Anyway, musings aside, here's what I had bought:

And here's what I have bought today (as a set just in case): 22mm to 14mm push-fit easy release fitment to go from the lance to the rod is really what I think I needed:

Otherwise there's a premium of several hundred pounds to buy a purpose-made patio pressure washer. Thankfully there are items that can convert cheaper ones into those, but it's odd nowhere stocks the accessories/fitments to be 'off the shelf'.

Nothing special at all, really. Just a Lidl Parkside 1300W. Website still lists it at about £50.

https://www.lidl.co.uk/p/parkside-pressure-washer/...

The plan is to fit the 22mm reducing piece from the Amazon set in place of the nozzle and then connect that to the rod on the patio attachment.
