I used to be very into detailing but then fell out of love with it so I have a garage full of stuff some of which is usable some of which probably just needs to go in the bin smile

Having just treated myself to a new car I'm tempted to try to get back into it even at a basic "decent car wash" level so this is my kit list for stuff I think I need to get.

1x Gyeon Microfibre Tyre Brush
1x Gyeon Leather Brush
5x Gyeon Soft Wipe Towels
1x Gyeon Towel Wash
1x Gyeon Q²M Iron

I have Gyeon Silk Dryer and Silk Mitts and I have lots of different shampoos and a multitude of quick detailers and interior detailers and I need a couple of new buckets but I already have 2x grit guards.

I need either a new sponge or wash mitt and I'm not sure what the current best choice is thought to be?

Soft99/Qjutsu seem to get good press on their sponges but so do Gyeon mitts.

All I know is I have couple of old microfibre madness mitts that haven't been used for a couple of years but they seem to have gone properly scratchy.

I'm not hell bent on Gyeon but it keeps things simple.

There's also a chance I'll get the car "new car detailed" when the weather gets a little nicer as it seems a bit like throwing money away at the moment smile

I hadn't appreciate quite what a range of decent products Halfords stock now!

Looks like they do the Rag Company Cyclone Ultra which looks like it's probably the best thing I can get without having to wait for mail order.

Halfords have a very good selection & it’s even better if you have a trade card

Just got back.

Rag Company, Autoglym, Meguiars, big display of Auto Finesse which last time I looked was a niche detailing brand.

Got a pack of Cyclone Ultra mitts and a Gauntlet drying towel and left quickly before it got expensive.

Honestly impressed thumbup

I think it’s because it’s a bit like the cosmetics industry - costs buttons to make and has a massive profit margin.

Surprisingly impressed with how well all the stuff in the garage that hasn't been used for a few years behaved.

Expected my snow foam lance to be buggered but it works perfectly and my "expensive" 16 year old Kranzle still works like it did when new.

Oh and I still fking hate cleaning wheels biggrin

I dont tend to stick to one brand, I buy whats best from across a range. However as it happens Gyeon Bathe+ has been my go to shampoo for a number of years now, absolutely brilliant stuff.

Ha! The likes of Kamikaze and Soft99 seem to be well regarded if you ignore the holy war of sponge v Mitt smile

As it is the Rag Company Cyclone Ultra seems pretty damned good to me and I could get it the day I needed it.
