About to buy a grit blaster now and looking at the stuff available to use in it I have to confess to being flumoxed. I want to get rid of deep rust and old paint from my old car mudguards. Should I use sand, glass balls, fine grit or coarse grit. Please help

Tell the guys you're buying it from what you want to do and they should advise you. Sand or fine grit I'd guess - depends how bad they are though.

Just in the process of ordering some blasting stuff myself (plus compressor). From dontlift on here ...

I wouldnt blast body panels, you are likely to damage them(dents and distortion) youd be better off having them chemically cleaned and primed by a specialist.

Just my opinion, but I've seen some badly damaged "bead blasted " shells in the past,
