I've just had my car detailed. The result is very good, and the detailer actually spent 10 hours on the job, mostly on waxing / machine polishing the paintwork.

being stupid I forgot to ask him how I should look after the car to preserve the wax when it requires washing as it undoubtedly will, very soon, at this time of year.

Does anyone have any tips on how to keep the car clean in winter months without compromising the waxing too much, thus maintaining the protection afforded by it?

Thanks

Use a good quality shampoo to wash (with a mitt) - this oughtn't to remove the wax. If you want to add back or preserve the shine, you could also use a quick detailer, possibly one with carnauba in.

Wash the car with an open hose to let the water sheet off of the bodywork. Use a decent shampoo, pat dry with a drying towel, no blades or chamoix and spray with a quick detailer when wet. Then wax every six or so weeks.

Hi All,

I was the detailer who did Tifosi's Ferrari.

Julian - I dropped you an email yesterday with care info in, if you need any more help then just let me know. I have had a few emails go astray over the past few weeks so if you didn't receive it then I will send it again.

Regards,

Roy
