Winter washing
Discussion
I rinse car, snow foam, rinse, bit of Meguiars All Purpose Cleaner, foam again, agitate, (optional 2 bucket wash here if bad), rinse and dry. I use a pressure washer.
I use Collinite wax in the Winter as it lasts well.
I aim to maintain car as far as possible but accept a black daily driver can't look its best through Winter.

If the car is very dirty and I mean to the point of the lowers starting to look a distinct shade of brown instead of foaming first I tend to pressure wash the car (at an angle, not that close to the paint) to shift the initial dirt.
I will then foam the car which will take some dirt with it and soften the rest so that the pressure wash rinse removes even more dirt.
These two steps alone remove about 90% of the dirt, I then proceed with a two bucket wash (I would have cleaned the wheels before with a separate bucket and wash mitt and brush) and then rinse with filtered water.

I've never heard of this snow foam thing, but it sounds as though it's pretty good. I've got an ordinary Karcher pressure washer - would I be able to use snow foam with it ?
Call Autobrite and let them know you have a Karcher (getting the correct fitment), and some Super Snow Foam or Bilt Hamber Auto Wash and you'll end up with something like thus:Sorry for nicking your pic James - first one to hand that I could remember.

You can use Snow Foam with the standard Karcher set-up. It won't foam as well as the pictures you see here. Then you'll get Lance envy and want to buy a dedicated Snow Foam lance. They are about £50.TIA, Chris
I got one from this seller on eBay. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HEAVY-DUTY-FOAM-LANCE-5L-SNO...
-Includes Snow Foam. 5 litres will last ages.
