Super Spray - Hose end sprayer
Discussion
I rang the guys at Superspray, because i have 4 of these. I have one ready filled with car shampoo, one for the lawn, etc etc.
John (obviously a proper fellah with a name like that) assured me that they've never made anything for Turtle, and he did point out that the device Jamoor seems to be talking about:-
a) found it's way into the pound shop (why? - any other turtle products in there?)
b) as Jamoor himself says - The Turtle thingy is only designed for a one-off use
John also said
c) the Superspray comes with a money-back if not satisfied guarantee
d) take a look at the testimonials for Superspray www.superspray.co.uk/testimonials.htm
my oldest superspray is about 2 years old & no signs of giving up I must've used it a couple of hundred times, so if it dies tomorrow it'll have cost me about 4p per wash. That seems much better value than a "Use Once" product for £1.
I don't think it's a con at all. It saves me loads of time, and I know I only put clean water on my car when i wash it, so I'm not causing swirl marks
I know the superspray gets raved about on websites that are aimed at valeting/detailing, caravanning and gardening, so a lot of people must agree with me.
Seems you pay yer money & take yer choice, but I know where the smart money'll go.

Greg!
If you've had it less than a year, just get in touch with the guys at superspray. They'll replace the thing. Doesn't matter whether you bought it direct or through a distributor. They really are nice to deal with & the service is 1st class.

I've got one.
At the time, I just couldn't justify spending the thick end of 50 sheets on a Gilmour, and, whilst I have a Karcher washer with shampoo attachment, Its enough hassle at the moment getting the hose out as I don't have any off road parking.
Its actually pretty good! I use Megs Gold Class shampoo in it and you get a reasonable amount of foam out of it, and no doubt a proper foaming shampoo would produce better results.
But...for a tenner its bloody good. Its quite well built, although the thread on the top has broken so you can't do it up too tightly, and the top part of the sprayer is loose on mine and falls off from time to time. Otherwise, it gets used every week to keep 2 cars clean.
7/10 for the results
9/10 value for money
Hope that helps you.
Given the choice again, I'd get a Gilmour as a mate bought one at the same time as me, and swears by it.

Ah OK Jamoor, I can see how the Turtle thing should be quite a lot cheaper than a superspray.
1st thing it doesn't have a quick connector fitting, so straight away you'll have to spend another £2-£5 before you can even attach it to your hose.
2nd thing it only has 1 control tap, so that means either the water is flowing all the time and can't be switched off, or the shampoo is flowing all the time. Either way it's a waste, especially if you're on a water meter.
Go back to the original pic at the beginning of this thread & you'll see the superspray has 1 control for water, 1 control for shampoo, and a built in connector to clip onto the hose.
I'm sure the Turtle thing is fine for what you pay, but it's a lot simpler than a superspray, and as you say it's only designed to be used once. My supersprays seem to last for years.

Well you would say that considering you own the superspray brand!!!!1st thing it doesn't have a quick connector fitting, so straight away you'll have to spend another £2-£5 before you can even attach it to your hose.

Well thats not very nice is it. I don't know if f1john has any connection to Superspray, but even if he does its my thread, I found a product that I though might have been helpfull to other PHer's and shared it with them. There has been some positive feedback and some alternative suggestions like a foam lance that would work better but for the money and after using it I like the Superspray.
It does what it says on the tin (to quote a well known brand). It sprays, it does not claim to foam. Spraying shampoo on my car is what I wanted and hoped it would do and it has so im happy.
If you don't like it don't buy one, but I will continue to use mine.

All he does is talk about xopc and superspray.
XOPC, do a whois on the site
http://www.whois-search.com/whois/www.xopc.co.uk
and the owner is John Akin.
do it for superspray
http://www.whois-search.com/whois/www.superspray.c...
and the owner is John Akin and Co.
With a name like f1john, it's certain that it's his company, the superspray and the xopc sites look like they were designed by the same person.
He also seems to be putting down that turtlewax produce, which is exactly the same as the superspray one!

Do you like ringing yourself?Edited by jamoor on Saturday 12th April 09:01
imo the superspray is pretty poor
as i said in an earlier post if you have a Karcher pressure washer (as most seem to) you can on fleabay buy the Karcher Foam Lance Attachment for less than £10 (hell its only about £15 from Halfords)
it will produce proper foam when used with the 'right' products (eg Snow foam/shampoo mix)
now i'll not pretend its as good as a 'proper' foam lance but imo leagues better than Superspary whatever!!
also despite some claims being made in support of superspray - think you'll not find it rated very well on say Detailing World?

Different products. One claims to spray the other foam, both do what they are intended to and a are not ment to compete.as i said in an earlier post if you have a Karcher pressure washer (as most seem to) you can on fleabay buy the Karcher Foam Lance Attachment for less than £10 (hell its only about £15 from Halfords)
