Guys

Got a pretty old golf (T reg, 1999 gti in Black) and the problem is that there's a shedload of pitting and marks in the roof paintwork that just wont polish out.

Can anyone suggest some help?

Also - the plastic skirts (the bottom of the bumpers) are now faded - is there a good product to reblack these?

Many thanks for all your help.

Oh and my alloys need help - can anyone help on this too! Thanks!

The roof may need some work initially with a decent clay bar, the a rotary polisher using menzerna polishes, before being glazed, sealed and waxed.

The trim can be brought back to life with a decent clean using an all purpose cleaner (APC) mixed with water, then dressed using something like chemical Guys New Look Trim Dressing or similar.

The wheels obviously need a good clean, then the decision has to be made regarding a repaint or just a decent polish and two coats of wax.

Where are you located?

Hi, I'm in Hampton (TW12 postcode) near Twickenha on the outskirts of London.

Thanks for your advice!

The question is do you want to do the work yourself and save some serious cash, or do you want to spend maybe £300 and have it professionally detailed and all of the faults repaired?
