A couple of weeks ago I spent a day cleaning and polishing my car. I used Autoglym Resin Polish and the Autoglym Extra Gloss/paint sealant.

The last couple of weekends I've probably killed half the bug population of the South East, the front is covered!

Now hot water alone isn't going to be enough to shift them.

Question is, would I be able to use a small amount of Autoglym shampoo to remove the bugs without removing the wax/polish?

I was thinking of doing this and then just going over the front with a Meguires quick detailer.

Cheers

It will be fine. Car shampoo is made not to just strip the wax off, just top the wax/sealant up every month and it'll be fine.

The longer the bugs stay on in the sun, the harder they will be to remove

wash as often as you can as the dead fly remains will eat into the lacquer.

Simon, with insects, it's best to wash and leave for 5 mins to soften them up a bit, don't try and scrub them off. Autoglym shampoo is fine, I think it's PH neural but dosen't suds up much.
