Took the opportunity of this lovely autumn weather to detail the CSi (again).

I read somewhere a while ago to apply a synthetic like Klasse before carnauba wax to improve longevity of finish.
Is this correct, Klasse seems to be unpopular these days?

That presumes the sealant used beneath the wax is longer lasting itself.
The main reason of the whole wax over sealant thing, is that some sealants are very clinical in their appearance, whereas a carnauba wax is supposedly warmer in tone, so the latter is used to counteract the former's sterility.
There's also the water beading aspect - nice looking beads from waxes, but other than aesthetics, that's all water beading provides, It doesn't mean there's actually any product still on the car, as clean paint will bead very nicely on its own.
So, for what it's worth, I'd personally not bother with the Klasse under Sn, unless you want to use it to get it used up.
If you were thinking of buying some, then save your money or get Lime Prime Lite, and use it under Sn for a bit more wetness/depth, or Zaino Z-8 for over the Sn to add a bit of extra zing.

Thanks for the reply.

I've done an experiment and used only Dodo Juice Supernatural on the bonnet and Klasse plus Supernatural on the roof.
I'll monitor any difference.

The ease off application is exactly the same - obviously adding the Klasse is an additional process I could do without!

My gut feeling is that there's no point in using the Klasse first.

(The pre-wax was Menzerna followed by Sonus SFX-3)
